With over 30 years dedicated to veterinary medicine, Dr. Gershon L. Alaluf’s journey is a testament to passion, perseverance, and leadership. Starting in 1990 as a kennel attendant, he climbed the ranks through hands-on roles including veterinary technician, office manager, and associate before becoming the proud owner of two thriving veterinary practices in Orange County, California. Alongside his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, he earned an MBA and is now pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration, uniquely combining clinical skill with business insight. Dr. Alaluf’s leadership extended beyond his practices as he currently serves as Medical Director for the Laguna Beach Animal Shelter and supports a wide network of animal rescues and law enforcement K9 units. A dedicated mentor, he has personally guided over 20 aspiring veterinarians, helping to shape the future of the profession through encouragement and hands-on support. Now stepping into academia, Dr. Alaluf brings his deep well of experience to the classroom and online learning, delivering courses with a relaxed yet inspiring style that resonates with students and professionals alike. His upcoming continuing education course on veterinary diarrhea exemplifies his commitment to practical, real-world knowledge that elevates patient care. His doctoral research focuses on the vital intersection of leadership, team dynamics, and mental health in veterinary medicine — aiming to foster healthier, more resilient veterinary teams.
